New series of blogs to recommended whatever good I have come across in the past few days.
I just completed the book called Quiet: The Power of Introvert in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain.
Brilliant book, got so many eye-opening facts about the reality of how extroverts are being portrayed as ideal and how it is ruining the world. Got a lot of clarity of who I am, why I am the way I am and what people like me (introverts) are capable of.
Must read for extrovert people who want to understand Introverts around them or for introvert people who want to understand themselves.
Some of the best line of the books that I loved:
- How did we go from Character to Personality without realizing that we had sacrificed something meaningful along the way?
- We don't need giant personalities to transform companies. We need leaders who build not their own egos but the institutions they run.
- To ask whether it's nature to nurture, is like asking whether a blizzard is caused by temperature or humidity. It's an intricate interaction between the two that makes us who we are.
- There are only a few out there who can completely overcome their fears, and they all live in Tibet.
- Conviction is conviction at whatever decibel level it's expressed.
- Studies shows that venting doesn't soothe anger, it fuels it.
- Some introverted kids have more acceptance of their parents than they have of them.
I might write blog on this.
I saw this beautiful talk called, "Are Women Objects of Pleasure?"
Especially in the Indian society, how we are unknowingly encouraging woman objectification and what is the effect of it. I learned a lot. Worth watching!
I came across this artist named Bo Burnham.
Extremely talented. He writes funny songs with a meaningful message behind them.
Disclaimer: Most of them has curse words or some bad content as well. So be a filter and not a sponge.
Saw a real-life inspired movie called Everest on Netflix.
The story is of two groups, who encounters several challenges and threatening weather conditions as they attempt to scale Mount Everest.
I was stunned. No words to describe.
Ankur Warikoo is sharing knowledge and helping people out through his expertise.
I just recently saw this video on Instagram and it was a very small and simple video but very effective.
Must watch.
Thank You
