Also known as Kantikaka
He was a Gandhian, Freedom Fighter, Philanthropist, and a Sculptor.
He was famous for making New York City's statue of Gandhi in Union Square (shown in the picture).
"Do you fear death?" Jayeshbhai (the person sitting beside him in the videos) once asked him. And his response was, "Death is my noble friend."
Then, he quoted Sankaracharya:
" अङ्गं गलितं पलितं मुण्डं दशनविहीनं जातं तुण्डम् । वृद्धो याति गृहीत्वा दण्डं तदपि न मुञ्चत्याशापिण्डम् ॥
(Rough translation: If we don't mature into the wisdom of letting go, old age becomes a great burden. Then, only death can save us. Whenever I close my eyes, however, I see my dear friend death.")
He used to be with Gandhiji and draw sketches of him. Kanti Kaka's first gypsum sculpture was of Gandhi. Since then, he made more than 800 sculptures, planted all across the world. For his service to art, he has also received Padma Shree.
Although he says he was tempted once, none of his work bears his name. He never left a signature on any of his art, including the one that still stands in Manhattan's Union Square!
Once, he was asked, "Dada when do you know the sculpture is complete?" Without skipping a beat, he responded, "When I feel it is not made by me".
Life is a Game
Lyrics:
We came crying, crying
Shall go laughing, laughing
Game, game, game
Life is a game
Game, game, game
Life is a game
Sometimes it is like this
Sometimes it is like that
Game, game, game
Life is a game
We came crying, crying
Shall go laughing, laughing
Game, game, game
Life is a game
May I tell you one thing,
It's a lesson for all
No demands forever
Just give, give and give
Game, game, game
Life is a game
We came crying, crying
Shall go laughing, laughing
Game, game, game
Life is a game
