Bookmarks of 2021

Updated: 3 hours ago

I have shared many of these books here before, but I thought it would be better if I just make a list of the best books that I read in 2021. Most of the books are not from 2021, but I read them in 2021. I have shared a short glimpse of what is in the book that I loved. If you like any of the books, do read them, it can be a good start to the new year.

Naval is one of the very few people in his industry who thinks more than just making money. His thinking and his ideas are very clear and impactful. I have thoroughly enjoyed and highlighted pages and pages of wisdom from this book.

This book was a gift from my mentor.

Many things learned from this book has now become an integral part of my life and my thinking. This is one of the best birthday gifts I have received, which is going to benefit me again and again.

I would highly recommend everyone to read this book. Whether you are a student, or in business or doing a job or a homemaker. This book has everything from wealth creation to happiness.

I have compiled all my highlights of the book in this blog. You can check that out too, it's a long blog! And you can get the book for free on navalmanack.com

Apart from being a fan of The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse. 2021 had many more comic artists which caught my attention. There are particularly three books that I bought or got gifted and I love all of them. They are refreshing, relatable, soft and soothing to go through. I wouldn't say they are for reading, because you can complete each of them in 30 mins but I loved to have them by my side.

I was very skeptical to buy the first book of Austin Kleon, as it was comparatively expensive. But I heard some amazing reviews from people so I bought the first book out of three and on the first day of reading, I ordered the other two too. Austin Kleon has helped me a lot in understanding how to be creative, how to stay creative and how to show my work.

Apart from all the things that I learned, applied in my life and projects in which I was working, one of the major learning for me was to learn how to steal. I know stealing word has a negative connotation but after reading this, you will understand what I mean.

It is a very easy and fast read.

If you are in a creative field, I will highly recommend all three books.

There are some books while reading them for the first time, you are sure that you want to read them again as soon as possible. This was that book for me.

I have learned so much, it has impacted a lot of places in my life. My perspective towards money, earning, spending, everything has has been impacted by this book. Short stories with timeless lessons, this book was worth it.

Highly recommended book for everyone, especially youngsters. Must Buy.

This is one of the very few books for which I deliberately slowed my reading pace. I have not completed this book yet, I have no hurry in completing too. Each chapter has so much to apply in life that I don't want to rush it.

Farnam Street blogs are what I came across last year and I have been in love with their content since then. They have made my life much easier and meaningful.

Because I loved the blogs, I bought this book just by the title.

With the curation of important mental models, it is superbly written and explained. Must for anyone willing to work on themselves. These mental models are tools to live a happy and wise life. It is an expensive book (comparatively), but it is worth the money if you just apply what you learn in this book.

I got to know about this book through a course by Vishal Khandelwal. This book was my first kindle read and I loved the book.

This book can convince anyone to make checklists. How making simple checklists and following them can have a huge impact on life and career, is what I have learned in the book. I haven't completed the book yet but I have started making checklists in all areas of my life. Now, anywhere if I find an opportunity to make a checklist, I make one. With real-life examples and case studies, this book is definitely a unique and interesting read.

This is the only book, where I have only read one chapter and I am adding this to the list. Adam Grant is one of the best writers I came across in 2021.

I love his tweets. I have also shared one of his articles in a recent recommendation blog. This book will challenge a lot of beliefs you have. I have read just one chapter and I have started to rethink everything I have ever believed about being wrong.

Wonderfully written with stories, examples and solutions, this book can be a perfect start to the journey of self-growth.
